The LFCIS Student Council is returning for another month of March Madness. This year, the madness will bring back some favorites as well as introduce some new activities, events, and contests. Here is the official breakdown of all the festivities taking place.
Week 1: Mon. 3/3 - Fri. 3/7 → Promo & Trivia Warm Up
March Madness begins with promotional announcements via representatives visiting classrooms. These reps will be handing each teacher a hardcopy of this document as well as a student friendly copy for each student in your homeroom. They will also explain each event and answer any questions. This first week also features warm up trivia questions at the end of morning announcements each day! Prizes will be outlined during morning announcements.
Week 2: Fri. 3/14 → Trivia Tournament
Last year’s debut of the Trivia Tournament was a huge success, so it’s no surprise that it is making its return. This year, it will take place during periods 7-9 on Friday, March 14. While the tournament for both 5th and 6th graders takes place simultaneously, the 5th graders will only be competing against other 5th grade teams, and the 6th graders against 6th grade teams. Winners for both grades will be announced at the end of the day.
Week 3: Mon. 3/17 - Fri. 3/21 → Dress Up Days
The dress up days have been a fan favorite each year, so we decided to bring them back with a fresh new look! As always, each day of the week will have a different theme, and administrators will be touring the buildings each day to select their favorites to win a special yearbook feature! We encourage teachers to participate in their favorite day as well. Below lists the theme for each day:
Monday - St. Patrick’s Day
Wear Green or an Irish-themed outfit to celebrate!
Tuesday - Dress up as your Administrator
This is your opportunity to design an outfit that matches the attire of Mr. Giordano or Mr. Kraljic
Wednesday - Wacky Hair Wednesday
Wear your hair in a fun, creative, or unusual style - accessories allowed to enhance your creation!
Thursday - Throwback Through History Thursday
Dress as someone from history
Friday - Flashfoward to Future Fashion Friday
Dress how you think fashion will look in the future. Be creative!
Week 4: Mon. 3/24 - Fri. 3/28 → Teachers vs. Students Volleyball
To close out March Madness, the Student Council is hosting a Teachers vs. Students Volleyball Match taking place on Friday, 3/28! Starting on Monday, March 24, announcements will feature the different students and teachers participating in the events to build school spirit.
